I use Southern Ice porcelain - I love working with it and don't think that anything beats its whiteness.
I am currently casting in Southern Ice, very finely, and doing intricate shellac resist decoration. I line the inside of my work with Cornish Stone Celadon (yes, I still have a bag) or let the clay speak for itself and finely polish the pieces after firing.
I am always seeking purity and transluscency. My previous works involve casting coloured layers of SI and carving back into it.
The colour stains I use are Clayworks lavender and turquoise.
